June festivities and anniversary celebration in Cusco will attract more tourists to the Imperial City, the President of Cusco’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services, Tourism and Production Carlos Milla said today.
“There seems to be a sense of excitement since the re-opening of Machu Picchu is setting a new phase in the recovery of tourism,” he stated.
He also said festivities will draw a significant number of tourists to Cusco, “since Cusco has a historic, monumental and cultural legacy which is renowned worldwide”.
He mentioned that “tourism industry is currently enloying a recovery, but not as in the past, since there are very few coaches going to the Inca citadel”.
“This situation should be overcame by the time celebrations come around.
We are confident that the sector will be back to normal by June, July and August,” he added.
