Iquitos, Apr. 08
The governor of Loreto, Yván Vásquez, will launch tomorrow the gastronomic route of this Peruvian northern rainforest area, aimed at boosting the tourist activity through food.
This initiative includes the northern, central and southern tourist circuit of the province of Maynas, as well as the central tourist circuit of Loreto-Nauta, and the one of the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve.
The move is expected to create more direct and indirect jobs, improve the villagers’ quality of life, and contribute in the preservation of the tourist attractions with this route.
The regional government recalled that Loreto’s cuisine has varied ingredients, fusion of flavors and cultural diversity. “Juanes”, made with rice and chicken, is one of its main highlights.
An interinstitutional agreement with the Peruvian Institute if Gastronomy, directed by renowned Peruvian chef Andres Ugaz, will be signed in the launching of the gastronomic route.
