“A fun way to see Machupichu and beyond”
I was with a group of others from Washington and Ohio on a Agriculture tour of Peru with Anglatin Travel who used the Journey Experience team to give us our tour in and around Cusco, and Machupichu. We would have never been able to see or get to any of the communities that we traveled to with out these guys. They are local people who love telling there story and showing their country off to visitors. The Journey Experience is just that, a journey into the Peruvian lifestyle by visiting local people and experiencing the culture and scenery in the Andes. The day trips outside of Cusco to small villages were very interesting and educational. They are really making a difference helping these small communities with tourism and getting people like us into the culture. The trip to Machupichu was one of the highlights of course and with these JO-EX guides it brought the whole thing to life. Do some more research on them I am sure you will find lost more interesting things they do. www.thejoex.com
“Fantastic day of activities in The Sacred Valley”
We had a great time, the team were very professional, fun and shared so much about their culture with us! First of all we drove to Pisac where we were welcomed by a Mamita who taught us how to make delicious empanadas. Afterwards, we drove further into the Valley and stopped to see the traditional way of cooking guinea pigs (we also had a taste!). Then we visited a silver jewellery workshop, we saw how the traditional Chicha (beer made from corn) is made. After a tasty lunch, we met a lady who makes chocolate (once again we were able to taste her amazing chocolate), we also got our hands stuck in to making some pottery! All the locals were so welcoming and it was a privilege to be able to learn about their activities. So refreshing to be able to spend a day doing a different type of tourism: tasting and getting involved in the local communities’ lives. Thank you all for a fantastic experience!
