ATVs, QUADs
Duration : 1 day Trip Code:
Starting Point : Cusco (Perú) Finishing Point: Cusco (Perú)
It´s a thrilling full day tour to the mighty Amazon River´s Headwaters, which start their course by some icy drops of water from Mount Mismi’s glacier, 18,000 ft up, on the Andes’ spine. This one day journey will take you through beautiful changing landscapes. Since our departure from Cusco, in a modern vehicle, magnificent mountains will be dominating the deep valleys of the meandering Huatanay and Vilcanota rivers. Later on and as we’ll get to “Cuatro Lagunas” (Four Lakes), in Acomayo, we’ll start our ATV ride, passing by some of the most beautiful lakes in Peru, with waters of an opalescent blue, which reflect shadows of the surrounding hills and constantly changing sky. On their shores, there are some colorful villages, as well as native birds and ducks.. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the enigmatic “Qarañawi” caves and finally arrive at the Amazon’s Headwaters, in the Apurimac’s Canyon; our circuit’s main point, to get to know “Qeswachaka”, the last Incan Hanging Bridge, made of vegetable fibers so strong that, in the 16th century, Pizarro; the Spanish conqueror, even managed to take his canons and horses across it. These exciting moments will be unforgetable, on this unique ATV tour in the world.
